Existential-humanistic psychotherapy

I’m Ry. I help people explore who they are, come to know themselves more deeply, and discover more present and meaningful ways to live.

Let’s talk.

I’m Ry. I’m an existential-humanistic psychotherapist.

Existential humanism isn't a technique I use. It's a perspective that informs how I try to show up in the world: present, honest, responsible, and open to the full complexity life. I bring that same perspective to my work as a therapist.

As a queer, poly man, my life experience has deepened my respect for identities, relationships, and lives that do not always fit conventional expectations. I know the value of being met without judgment or having to translate important parts of yourself.

I offer presence, warmth, directness, honesty, and a great deal of respect for how difficult it can be to be a person. You will not have to make yourself smaller, tidier, or less complicated to be valued in our work.

Ry

Being human isn't easy.

There is more to you than what brings you to therapy.

Being human isn’t easy. And you are not a problem to be fixed.

Whether you are facing depression, anxiety, grief, burnout, a major life transition, relationship or family struggles, or questions of identity, belonging, and meaning, I invite you to slow down and become curious about your experience.

I work from an existential-humanistic perspective, welcoming people across identities and relationship structures. I have particular experience supporting LGBTQ+ people and those exploring polyamory or other forms of consensual non-monogamy. Together, we pay attention to the ways you have learned to protect yourself, what unfolds between us, and what helps you feel most alive. We make room for uncertainty as you come to know yourself more deeply and move toward choices that feel honest, meaningful, and fully your own.

“Therapy isn't about becoming someone new. It is about meeting yourself more honestly and choosing how you want to live.”

For therapists, supervisors & clinical leaders

Your humanity belongs in the room, too.

Clinical supervision and consultation is not simply case review or a performance of certainty. It is a place to talk honestly about what happens in the room: your presence, assumptions, limits, ethics, stuck places, and the personal realities of doing this work.

  • Bring clinical dilemmas without needing a perfect answer.
  • Develop a relational stance that feels alive, ethical, and embodied.
  • Make room for identity, power, culture, intimacy, rupture, and repair.
  • Build a sustainable professional life that does not require leaving yourself behind.
